An ancestral Burgundian blend – Passetoutgrain is a blend of 2/3 Gamay and 1/3 Pinot Noir. Winegrowers were traditionally allowed to create a blend of the two grapes when blocks were planted with a mix of the two cultivars. When harvesting they would “pick them all” or “passetoutgrain”. A fresh, fruit-layered and ethereal wine that leads with delicate red fruit and immediate appeal. The nose offers bright and vibrant red fruit notes with a touch of spice from the Gamay Noir and a touch of rose petal, forest floor and black cherries from the Pinot Noir. Nicely textured, it develops roundness and amplitude emboldened by spice and hints of licorice.
